The car suspension system consists of 5 parts that help to connect the vehicle from the tires. Without the suspension system, the car won't be able to move or stop as it involves tires and a braking system.

The parts of the suspension system are as follows:

  • Tires- which help in the movement of the car and consider as the outer part of the suspension.
  • Springs- they are responsible for handling the shocks and absorb the uninvited bumps on the road.
  • Shock Absorbers- the main task of the shock absorbers is to support the springs so that they won't fall out after too many shocks or bumps.
  • Rods/Linkage- as the name suggests, rods are used to connect the parts of the suspension system so that they can work together and provide an easy and smooth ride. These rods are made up of high-quality material as they won't break off easily.
  • Joints/Bearing- these joints/ bearing helps the rod to join with other and bigger components. Check that the bearings are made up of iron and not rubber.
  • Steering system- steering system helps in giving direction to the vehicle and is also responsible for suspension's movement. It is an indirect component of the suspension system.
  • Frame- frame is the structure where all the other components are placed and fitted together. Without the frame, there will be no place to hold the suspension system together in the car.
